Announcements as PDF will be discontinued

In conjunction with PRV launching the beta version of “Search PRV's databases” on its website on January 26, newspapers with announcements in PDF version will be phased out. This brings an end to a 140-year tradition.

To announce which patents, trademarks and design protection have been registered, various newspapers have been published over the years. From 1885–1975, editions of “Register till patent meddelande av Kongl. Patentbyrån” were printed (a little later under a different name). The Register of Trademarks was first published in 1885.

Since the advent of the internet, people have switched to sending out weekly editions in PDF format by email. This is now discontinued and will become history.

Announcements made from 26 January 2026 can be found in PRV's databases under the "Announcements" tab. There you can search for announcements by date and where you can search for announcements made in a specific week.
